What did everyone end up with. (Too many post in the current conditions to look it up). I figure this would be easier. Mt Holly never posted anything. Here in Wantage I am going with 2.5 inches of snow might have been a little more but I was working all day so never got to get a good measurment before the sleet started. 2.5 is after the sleet/freezing rain.

4 inches of snow, 1/3" of ice on top, brings me to 11 1/2' for this new season. Sun is breaking through currently, winds are really picking up. To my surprise, kids school was closed, along with several others in Orange County.

We had 2.8" of snow yesterday. Really ended up being a winter wonder land yesterday, with very little freezing precip between 1PM and midnight. The biggest surprise of this storm is how little water content came from the second half of the storm. Looks like it was only about a 0.25" but I haven't had a chance to melt it down yet to confirm. That 0.25" appears to have been all freezing rain. Schools were delayed two hours.

LOL...I was thinking of telling my sis in law in Queens to try and preserve her snow like that but....................... ;)
BTW, the winds are really bad here, temps are down to 28, wind chill 17, wreath keeps blowing off of the door, so it is down for now.

1" of snow; 1" for the season thus far.
0.85" of rain last night as well. My temp didn't surge above freezing until 10-11pm, about 7 hours later than forecast.
BTW, high wind gust of 40mph today, but I've had frequent gusts 35-40mph with sustained winds 20-25mph.

I admit that twice I bought snow home in garbage bags from western New York so my daughters could play in it. Both times it was at the beginning of November.

Storm, do you have a wind meter? Always wanted one of those, but didn't know what to buy. Any suggestions?

Smokey, I have an anemometer attached to my Davis Vantage Pro 2 weather station -- it's about 11 feet off the ground. I highly recommend getting the DVP2 as it's the best/most accurate home weather station out there. It's a bit pricey, generally running in the $400-450 range, but it's DEFINITELY worth it IMO. Great being able to watch the weather change from inside the house, second by second (literally - updates every 2 secs), humidity, temperature, barometer, wind speed and direction, rainfall, rainfall rates, wind chill, heat index, (among many other variables)not to mention the ability to upload your data via weather link -- enabling you to store weather data from your backyard for months and years. It's nice being able to check my temp and precip departure, rainfall for the month, top wind speeds etc, with one click of a button - no manual calculations.
Not to mention you can make your own weather website, or upload your station to weather underground (I've done this myself). If you have any questions about it don't hesitate to ask.
