We are having blinding snow squalls that are dumping no less than a 1/2" to an inch each one.........Currently 20 degrees, heavy winds...Anyone else have them? Seems worse than yesterday for me.

Nothing yet here in southern CT, but the radar shows a pretty strong squall line on the way. I'll let you know.

I like to use the weather.com radar. It performs well with snowstorms and with thunderstorms plus you can zoom right down to your area!
http://www.weather.com/weather/map/interac...?from=mycity_wxAlso it doesn't seem to pick up as much virga as some other radars do.

Stopped for now, 18 degrees, wind chill at 4, although to me it seems that the winds have died down a bit. Just shoveled and cleaned off car. In my no wind zones, another 1 1/2 inches. Town plow just came by to treat roads. Have a good night all! My two and 1/2 men is on, by far the funniest sitcom currently on the air.(in my opinion)

it took us all day to get 1/2 inch and we spent one week to track that storm. But you got 1 1/2" in hour from nowhere.

One time during the summer i was outside washing my car and it actually showed up on the intellicast radar - it was crazy! ::)
Yes TWC is very good. I think we already have a consensus on that one.
Driving through Budd Lake this morning it was all white. It was too dark to tell but there was maybe about 1/2" Budd Lake always seems to get that. I think they have their own lake effect.
BTW - these are snow showers, not squalls. What snowamp gets are squalls.

Yeah i noticed budd lake always gets snow somehow and they get the most usually out of all the storms, but thats just because of elevation most likely.

Wow!! We have had amazing snow here in Westchester. Coming down hard and the winds are still whipping and gusting probably up to 30 miles per hour.  We have probably picked up about 1/4 of an inch of snow in about an hour. The only bad thing is that it makes the kids crazy in school talking about early dismissal.

my wife said the deck was white when she left and we continue to get a good line still, well over an hour later. i wouldn't be surprised if it's measurable. i just have no way of knowing.

There's approximately a 1/4" coating of snow on everything (including roads) here at my office in Summit, NJ. When I left my house in N. Plainfield at 8:30 am there were flurries. It came down harder as I drove to work and it got even heavier as I went up the Watchung ridge/mtns. Most of that 1/4" fell in a half hour. It's slowed down now to flurries.
