Well if you were going to make that argument, you'd have to show more than the past 6 years. Year-to-year variation is common even in trending.

Plus it is very obvious that the glaciers are melting and the extent of the ice isn't near to what it was. Just whether it was man-made warming or not. There is no doubt that the Earth did warm.

but in "earth years" what would be significant variations for trending... decade to decade? in the 70's scientist were warning we where all going to freeze to death. its just another of many cycles that the earth goes through. its not man made imo.

Right, but who says there's supposed to be that much ice all the time? Our climate has been known to go through different cycles in the past. We've had mini Ice Ages, followed by periods of warming.

Yes true, and I'm not here saying anthropogenic warming is correct or not, but 6 years is definately not enough time. It's like saying the Day After Tomorrow is exact science and the Earth is going to freeze in that time period.

Most folks trying to disprove global warming show just a few data points. Like one article on one growing glacier, or one year where the ice was a bit more than the previous year. This is not mathematically or scientifically sound.

heres what your so called scientist said in the late 1970s. Now they change there tune and say global warming. They didnt have a clue back than and still dont today

Yep - and that was because we went thru a very cold period that started in the 50's and ended in the 70's. some of those arctic outbreaks in the mid 1970's dropped Chicago to -15 to -20 in the middle of the day as the core of those airmasses came thru. When you get super arctic cold you can actually be colder at noon than at midnight if the core of the cold is over you in daytime. It just shows you that we go thru cycles and our "experts' just make a name for themselves following those cycles.

Some things I don't get though are arctic and antarctic ice-melt. I've followed Barrow and Fairbanks temps thru some of this global warming cycle. Fairbanks seems as brutal as ever, and is usually a lot colder than Barrow in winter as it should be given it's center o the state location. Barrow has moderated lately and it has to be ocean related. But how the heck is ice melting? Barrow temps are so cold that even 20 degree above normal temps would preserve ice as average temps in winter would still be barely above 10 degrees for highs! Barrow's late winter cold (late winter for them is May) is hardly changed with temps barely into the teens and twenties. So again how is ice melting?? It has to be coming from changes under the ocean surface that is warming oceans and which is almost certainly natural to Earth cycles. I buy into global warming and cooling but I remain convinced that they are natural occurances. IMO, man's aggravation is like a few cigarrete ashes adding litter to the streets after a ticker tape parade.
