I am not sure if this website has been posted in the past but I received some material in the mail from Meteorologist Anthony Watts who is involved heavily with SurfaceStations.org. I have seen postings from StormChaser on the topic regarding temperature stations being placed next to air conditioner exhausts and in the middle of blacktop parking lots. Surface Station.org has inspected 860 of the 1221 climate monitoring stations overseen by the National Weather Service and nearly 9 of every 10 fail to to meet the NWS own siting requirements.

Not only that, but major gaps in the data were filled in by nearby sites which propagates and compounds the errors in the reporting of temperatures. So as the trend over that past century has shown warming temperatures, the reality is that the information is skewed and should be thrown out. The reality is that that temperature record is not reliable and global warming is a crock of you know what. Check out SurfaceStations.org
