Scientific American has an Origins issue of many things this month. Some great reading. The origin of the mind is especially interestingy. Often the human brains intelligence is linked to size but there are species that have far larger brains. the Killer whales brain for example weighs 4X that of humans and even on a scale size there are brains of other species that are larger than ours.
