Board Rules/Terms of Service

Here at NYC Metro Weather, we believe in providing the public with a friendly community to discuss weather and other topics in. To sustain such an environment, we require that all viewers and users of any and all of NYC Metro Weather's services agree to, abide by, and follow these rules. The use of this website constitutes an agreement with the user to abide by these rules and indemnify NYC Metro Weather, its owner(s), and its staff against any legal or monetary claims resulting from the use of this website.

Please be aware that each person is allowed only one account. A person discovered to have more than one account may face deletion or banning. If you forgot your username/password, there are means for recovering that information. Creating additional accounts is unnecessary.

Registering with the same or intentionally similar username as another member of this board or impersonating someone is strictly prohibited, and your account will be removed immediately. Trolling by any member is also strictly prohibited and will result in immediate banning.

After you register and login to this forum, you will be able to fill out a detailed profile. It is your responsibility to present clean and accurate information. Any information the forum owner or staff determines to be inaccurate, vulgar or inappropriate in nature, including your avatar and signature, will be removed, with or without prior notice.

You agree, through your use of this forum, that you will not post any material which is false, defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, adult material, or otherwise in violation of any International or United States Federal law. You also agree not to post any copyrighted material unless you own the copyright or you have written consent from the owner of the copyrighted material. This includes material that normally requires a payment. Spam, flooding, advertisements, chain letters, pyramid schemes, and solicitations are also forbidden on this forum.

Although we do our best to monitor all posted content, we are only human, and are not responsible for the content contained within. We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of any information presented. The posted messages express the views of the author, and not necessarily the views of this forum, its staff, or owner. Inappropriate Use
Any type of harassment is strictly prohibited on the forums. Whether via PM or replying to a topic, harassment will result in the post being deleted and immediate banning of the member. If you feel you are being harassed please contact the administrator immediately and use the Report function. In almost all cases, harassment will be reported to the appropriate authorities.

Flaming and bashing are not allowed on this forum. Any threads or posts that flame or bash other members, posts, or websites will be edited, locked, and/or deleted. Members responsible for flaming or bashing, whether in public or private, may face disciplinary action.

Public opposition of action by the staff will not be entertained on the forums. If you have a question, comment or concern regarding staff actions, please contact the Forums Administrator directly.

The use of this forum to advertise websites or services, or for any other personal gain, often called spamming, is not allowed. This includes sending PMs, emails, creating new topics, or using information you obtained from this board with the intention to advertise other weather forums or competing sites and/or services.

Modes of Discipline
When it is deemed by an administrator or staff member that action needs to be taken, the staff will determine what this action may be, depending upon the offense. Discipline may include but is not limited to increased warning level, viewing and/or posting restrictions, disabled features, bannings and account deletions.

If an offense is deemed serious enough by the forum administrator, the appropriate authorities, including but not limited to local police, FBI, and Department Homeland Security, will be contacted.

Enforcement of the Board Rules will be at the discretion of the Forums Administrator and Staff.

All personal information collected by this website is kept strictly confidential unless publicly displayed or otherwise noted. Under no circumstances will your information, including email address, be turned over to a third party for purposes of spamming or unwanted contact. If you chose to share your personal information with another user of this forum, the Forums Administrator will not be held responsible.

Copyright Concerns
While the Terms of Service outline in this document note that this website and its owner(s) and staff are not responsible for the content of posts made by its members, its owner(s) are willing to cooperate in the event that you feel your copyright has been violated by a post made on this forum. If you wish to file a request for removal of content due to infringement, contact the administrator and include your name, telephone number, email address, organization, and note that you are concerned about an infringement of your copyright on NYC Metro Weather. Your message will be returned once it is received and reviewed detailing how to submit the additional information required for your claim. If you do not receive a request for more information, you may follow up. If you can not be reached back or you do not submit more information following our request, your matter will not be pursued.
